At PALFINGER EPSILON, dealing with environmental and sustainability issues does not just take place at management level. It is very important to the company to involve every single employee in the process, from the assembly worker to the customer service team. Only in this way is it possible to contribute to sustainable business activity as an entire company – because a healthy working environment protects employee health AND the environment.

Since December 2017, PALFINGER EPSILON has been one of the companies to receive an environmental and ISO certificate in accordance with the 14001:2015 standard from TÜV Austria. This is the globally recognised standard for the certification of environmental management systems. This certification verifies the environmentally conscious and sustainable business activity of PALFINGER EPSILON – from product development right up to the everyday work of the individual employees.

PALFINGER EPSILON ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY

PALFINGER EPSILON has set itself the goal of anchoring the idea of sustainable and resource-friendly business activity even more firmly in the company. Making people aware of this topic is therefore a leitmotif throughout the entire business activity. Throughout PALFINGER EPSILON’s value creation chain, i.e. from material procurement right up to crane delivery, measures are already being implemented in order to engage in environmentally friendly business activity. This means that, where possible, the procurement process focuses on procuring the crane components from regional sources. As a result, PALFINGER EPSILON suppliers are also being tested for compliance with the environmental guideline ISO 14001:2015 in order to ensure sustainability during each stage of crane construction.  For example, the suppliers themselves are paying attention to reducing cardboard packaging by packing specific crane components only once, as opposed to three times (as was common practice up to now).
Particularly in the case of in-house developments, it is important to PALFINGER EPSILON, in every further development of the products, to reduce the number of resources used and to increase product efficiency without making any changes to the number of resources. In light of this, the “Environmental aspect” point has been added to the corporate principles. This is designed to encourage the employees to question the extent to which environmental and sustainability issues have been taken into consideration in the development and construction of every new crane.
In order to expand the environmental aspect in the field of mobility as well, the next step involves replacing the business car with an electric car, and replacing all diesel forklifts with electric ones.
Environmental protection and sustainable business activity thus clearly belong to PALFINGER EPSILON's corporate principles. This makes the company even more determined to pursue its business activities in a resource and environmentally friendly manner.
