With more than 100,000 visitors and 1,200 international exhibitors, the Ecomondo is the most important trade fair for recycling, energy and sustainable development in the Euro-Mediterranean area. During the fair in Rimini, Italy, from 6 to 9 November 2018, international trade visitors got an insight into various processes, technical possibilities, equipment and services for solving environmental issues. PALFINGER ESPILON, with its new Triple-Z prototype from the Q-series, the Q17ZTR, was represented there by PALFINGER Italy .

Q17ZTR FOR MORE RECYCLING EFFICIENCY

The amount of work with and handling of recyclable materials is growing. This means that demands on the necessary equipment are also increasing. Deployment for up to eight hours, multiple-shift operations and additional external factors often make considerable demands on crane performance.
PALFINGER EPSILON has considered the prevailing challenges in the field of recycling in great depth. To overcome these challenges and provide maximum support to crane operators in their daily work, the Q17ZTR prototype was designed and presented at the Ecomondo by PALFINGER Italy.

The new Q17ZTR recycling crane particularly stands out because of its outreach. Thanks to the newly designed boom system with a whole new geometry, an outreach of up to 10.3 metres is now possible. This allows the working radius of the 17 metre tonne crane to be extended for the benefit of the crane operator, meaning that there is no need to reposition the truck each time when loading large and heavy scrap parts. The internal hose guide not only ensures easy handling, but also reduces the risk of the hoses being damaged during everyday operation.
The main boom, for example, can be extended by an additional 1,000 millimetres using an internal cylinder and is fitted with an elbow lever for optimal force transmission during the loading of high container walls. Thanks to a hook height of up to 3.96 metres, loading work can also be easily performed at the container fronts.
“In addition to the M12Z recycling crane, which is already on sale, PALFINGER EPSILON is now expanding its product range with the Q17ZTR prototype. With new construction, new design and proven serviceability, PALFINGER offers the customer a high quality product that ensures greater efficiency in everyday work,” says Lukas Absmanner (Area Sales Manager, EPSILON). Trade visitors also share this view. According to Daniele Di Gennaro, Sales Manager at PALFINGER Italy, there have already been some prospective customers for the Q17ZTR, as soon as it is available on the market.
