The PALFINGER EPSILON M12L83 crane heads to the far north for an extensive demonstration tour. Potential customers were able to see the powerful crane in action and try it out themselves along the more than 3,000-kilometer route.

Norway stretches from south to north over a distance of about 1,800 kilometers. Long journeys are part of everyday life in this Scandinavian country, distances with which the PALFINGER EPSILON is now pretty familiar. In cooperation with Mercedes-Benz and Bergs Fegen, a Swedish specialist for timber transport vehicles and cranes, PALFINGER Norge AS dispatched the M12L83 on tour across Norway.

As part of the road show from October 2021 until the end of February 2022, the crane is put to the test in every possible practical situation. The Norwegian company Bertel O. Steen AS provided a Mercedes-Benz truck for this purpose. From Oslo via Bergen as far north as Tromsø, the route has a total of 19 stops. Including all detours and deployments, the team covers more than 3,000 kilometers. Time enough to demonstrate the advantages of the M12L83.

Powerful and Fast in Equal Measure ...
The crane is equipped with an electrically controlled CAE cab and an FG53 grab. PALFINGER EPSILON developed the M12L83 so that, thanks to its power and maneuverability, it makes light work of even the most complex operations. The crane is used for short logs and therefore perfectly suited for the forestry industry in Norway, because the Scandinavian country is one of the most densely wooded countries in Europe. The M12L83 combines the best of design, comfort and advanced technology, with easy-to-use joysticks for quick work in the forest.

... as Seen in Action
On the tour, it is mainly used in the middle of dense forest. The M12L83 is not only for demonstration purposes, customers can also put the crane through its paces themselves. The people who tried it out are enthusiastic, as Erik Strande from PALFINGER Norge AS tells us: “This tour lets our customers try out the benefits of PALFINGER EPSILON technology, despite Corona. We can also once again be in more personal contact with them, which of course makes us very pleased. There was already a lot of interest from Norwegian customers.”
